| Palmyra, in the middle of the desert, contains the ruins of an old Roman city. It is much better to spend the night here rather than just taking a tour bus from Damascus as we had time to see the ruins under various lighting conditions. There was a sandstorm on the day we arrived, but luckly it had cleared up by dawn the next morning before we left. |
