| Petra, a city carved out of the sandstone mountains. Its a one kilometer walk along the "siq", a natural canyon, from the entrance until you reach the famous Treasury building. (Which had a staring role in the "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" movie.) We stayed in the local town the night before so we could get in to see Petra before the day-tripping tourists arrived from Amman. |
